how to go from this:

to this:

(psd included in tutorial)
Okay so a psd is a photoshop coloring you add to a gif/edit to make it look better.
There are a lot of people on tumblr who make psds and share them with everyone. There even blogs dedicated to sharing psds with gif makers.
Check out these blogs to find some psds:
epic-psds, psdrequests, drunkandcoloring, fuckyeahresources.
HERE IS A PSD THAT I’M SHARING WITH YOU ALL. (it’s the one I will be using in this tutorial)
okay so first, make your gif like you would normally:

Open up a psd.
(file —>open)

It will most probably come in a group (filled with adjustment layers), like this:

right click the group and click duplicate group.

you’ll see this:

change the scroll bar next to “Document” to your gif’s name (mine is named untitled1 at this point) and then click ok.
the coloring has now been transferred to your gif:

make sure your psd group is ABOVE all the other layers, otherwise the coloring will only be applied to some of the frames:

(if it isn’t, just drag it up to the top)
and thats it…just sharpen your gif and you’re all done :)

—————————————————————————————————————————————
You can make your own colorings by going to layer —> adjustment/fill layer. Pick out a few layers and basically experiment with it XD (that’s what I do anyway lolol)

this is an example of what my adjustment layers look like when I’m editing:

…but almost no one starts out making their own colorings right off the bat though so I just suggest downloading some psds and playing around with them until you get the hang of it.
